GENERAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK
Pool or hot tub:
connect the next steps.
Put the scope, sequence, purchases and money in one plan. Keep assumptions separate from confirmed requirements.
Confirm what is allowed and where
Pools and hot tubs are commonly regulated for setbacks, lot coverage, electrical safety and drainage, and pool barriers are often mandatory. Confirm the requirements with the authority before choosing a size or location.
Plan the barrier as part of the project
Fencing, self-closing gates and alarms may be required before the pool is filled. Keep the barrier in the plan and budget, not as an afterthought.
Coordinate electrical and access
Pumps, heaters, lighting and hot tubs need qualified electrical work and inspections. Excavation needs machine access; record how equipment reaches the yard and where soil goes.
Budget running costs too
Heating, chemicals, covers, maintenance and insurance continue after handover. Note them so the project decision includes them.
These are general workflow suggestions, not a construction method, design, code interpretation or local cost estimate. Template durations are illustrative and have not been reviewed for your property. Ask qualified professionals and the responsible authority to confirm what applies.
