GENERAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK
Flooring replacement:
connect the next steps.
Put the scope, sequence, purchases and money in one plan. Keep assumptions separate from confirmed requirements.
Check what is underneath
Subfloor flatness, moisture and existing layers decide which flooring works and how much preparation is needed. Ask the installer to check before ordering and keep a preparation allowance.
Order with waste and acclimatization in mind
Order extra for cutting waste and future repairs, and allow time for materials to acclimatize if the manufacturer requires it. Connect delivery to the installation stage.
Plan the room sequence
Furniture has to move and rooms may be out of use. Agree the order of rooms and how doors, baseboards and transitions will be handled.
Older homes need care
Older flooring and adhesives may contain hazardous materials such as asbestos. Arrange qualified testing before removal where relevant; this tool does not give removal instructions.
